CEO says Mechel can make less coal than planned in 2018
MOSCOW, Jun 29 (PRIME) -- Russian metals producer Mechel has retained a 23 million tonnes of coal as a production target for 2018 but does not rule out underperforming, CEO Oleg Korzhov said at an annual general meeting on Friday.
“The plan to produce 23 million tonnes of coal stands but it will be hard to meet it as of today. We will do our best,” Korzhov said.
He said that Mechel had troubles with coal production in January–March due to equipment shortages and that it attained a planned quarterly level in April–June.
